Can I colour hair extension hair?

You can never lighten the hair yet technically the hair is 100% human hair so many salons or clients do color the hair, but we recommend you don’t. If you choose to color the hair extensions the hair quality will drop and you may find the hair is much harder to look after. If you insist on colouring then use a non-ammonia semi permanent color range which is safer to apply to the hair extensions for temporary color change.

How long does my hair have to be before I can have extensions put in?

Your hair usually has to be at least 5 or 6 inches long before a weave can comfortably go on.  However, there are weave methods more suitable to hair that is shorter.  This can be discussed during your consultation.

How long will my weave stay in for?

This depends on many factors.  The short answer to this is that it can stay in anywhere from 4 to 13 weeks.  A weave is non damaging to your hair and we dont add any chemicals or glue so as not to cause you any damage to your hair. Every head of hair is different, and how long it stays in for depends on your hair and your lifestyle.

Does it hurt?

Your weave should not hurt.  At Weaves World we understand how important our clients hair is to them, and we won't do it any more damage than you would normally get from adding chemicals and heat.  Infact, we have found that our weaves have helped to improve the condition of our clients hair.  They start off with short damaged hair and by the end of their first weave they have longer, noursished healthy hair.  However it is crucial that you have your weave removed in the same place that you had it done!

Like hair coloring, a hair weave is a relatively easy and non-invasive way to change your appearance.  However, if you are considering adding a weave to your natural hair, it will be very important to explore your options and understand the different effects that certain hairstyles can have on your natural locks.  It is also crucial that you take precautions to minimize the risks of damaging your natural hair and scalp.  There are several steps to adding a weave to your hair, starting with your consultation.
